Jordan as a model country in Human Rights

Jordan as a model country in Human Rights

In Jordan we realizes that progress in the human rights situation is a major factor in achieving stability, strengthening global peace and security, and rooting individuals and societies ’sense of true citizenship. Therefore, Jordan has given this aspect a special importance and has singled out a package of legislation and procedures that cast a shadow over the collective feeling of a sense of true belonging and justice in Access to opportunities and rights.

The Jordanian constitution guarantees the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals in all aspects of civil, political, economic, social and cultural life, and guarantees rules consistent with international standards that together constitute effective protection of human rights and the prevention of any attack on, prejudice or diminution of rights and freedoms and elevates the status of the human being. And its dignity, as it gave Jordanians the right to establish trade unions and political parties, and guaranteed the right, compulsory and free education, and the right to work for all Jordanians and prohibited prejudice.

These rules have added to the legal protection of motherhood, childhood, old age, women and people with disabilities. These rules also guarantee freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of the press, printing and publishing, the media, literary, artistic, cultural and sports creativity, and guaranteed freedom of postal and telegraph correspondence, telephone calls, and other Means of communication, and confirmed that they are classified as confidential and are not subject to surveillance, access, arrest or confiscation except by judicial order to protect a fixed and stable right

In a practical application of democratic practice, Jordan conducted parliamentary elections in 2016 under a new and modern election law, which is an important event on the road to democracy and comprehensive reform under the supervision and management of the Independent Election Commission, which ensured that the state institutions conduct this electoral process in a framework of freedom, integrity and transparency and in accordance with international best practices. And monitoring many local and international bodies, which strengthened the presence of the youth segment as voters, as everyone who reached the age of seventeen was able to exercise their constitutional right to elect their representatives. The percentage of women’s representation in the eighteenth parliament increased, reaching 15.4% while it 10.6% in the previous council in 2012.

The influx of refugees to Jordan in general and Syrian refugees in particular has posed a great challenge to Jordan due to the tremendous pressure imposed by their influx on the country's already limited resources and on the infrastructure, which had a clear impact on all levels, especially health, education, water services, housing, and job opportunities for Jordanian citizens. In this context, Jordan calls on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities in supporting Jordan to fulfill its obligations arising from hosting them, and to find a solution that guarantees their return to their country in a manner that preserves their safety and human rights in accordance with the international principle of cooperation and burden-sharing among states.

Jordan has taken strong steps to move forward with the world in order for women to obtain their full rights. The Jordanian constitution has indicated in many constitutional articles that stipulate that women should be given their full rights in a manner consistent with the customs and traditions of the local community and in a manner that does not contradict the principles of our true religion, which stipulates the protection of women. And its importance to society .

And the Jordanian constitution has many law and role material which strengthen our national situation in global assembly to discuss human rights in Jordan as a model Arabian country :

"Child custody law,

State Law,

Divorce law,

Women right in voting ,

Women right in ownership ,

Women right in leadership ,

Women right in education ,

Duplicate marriage,

Introduce a legal text on joint funds .

Also Jordan make many campaigns came in order to raise the issue of discrimination against women in family laws and begin to remove them, as the campaign is based on engaging all segments of society in addressing the social background that supports social and legal discrimination and conducting an in-depth study of the origins of this discrimination and working on it through a campaign to reach more just amendments for women. .

These Campaigns come up with the goals

Combating discrimination and violence against women

Building a coalition of women's and human rights organizations in the four partner countries to build a strategy to end all types of discrimination against women

Achieving a legal framework that guarantees full equality between men and women"

Even though the history of HUMAN RIGHTS in Jordan is not very old ,but i think my country getting better year after year and we are in our road to achieve the optimal and ideal results which can hive a positive impression about the library in Arabian countries which is not contradict with our religion nor than our traditions or cultures which we were raised on it .
